How a Shoot Works
Every shoot runs in four steps.
Brief and concept
The brand, the menu and the channel the images will be used on are discussed; plating, props and backdrop are planned.
The shoot
Dishes served to guests are shot at the brand's own venue; packaged products are shot in the studio or planned around the client's wishes and where they are produced. Light, props and presentation are directed according to the plan.
Selection and retouching
The frames are selected together; colour accuracy and detail retouching stay faithful to how the dish really looks.
Delivery
For a one-day shoot, the selected frames are delivered in about 1-2 days, in formats suitable for web, social media and print.
Preparing for the Shoot
Three points are settled at the brief stage so the shoot day runs smoothly.
Dishes to shoot
The dishes and drinks to be photographed are listed in order of priority; seasonal or new items come first.
Kitchen and presentation
The order in which dishes are prepared and who provides serving ware and props are agreed before the shoot.
Where the images will be used
If the images are for a menu, social media, advertising or packaging, framing and sizes are planned accordingly.
What the Price Depends On
Instead of a fixed price list, a quote is prepared for each business; these points shape it.
Scope
The number of plates and drinks to be shot and the number of images delivered.
Location and preparation
Served dishes shot at the brand’s venue, packaged products in the studio or as planned around where they are produced; props, backdrops and styling.
Retouching and usage
The extent of retouching and where the images will be used: menu, web, social media, advertising, print.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where does the shoot take place?
Food is shot at the business’s own venue; this is how dishes served to guests are photographed. For packaged products such as nuts, the studio is the best setting, but it can be planned around the client’s wishes and where the product is made. Work covers Ankara, Istanbul and the whole of Turkey.
Which businesses do you shoot for?
Restaurants, cafés, patisseries and bakeries, and food and beverage brands. From small menus to large product ranges, the scope is set at the brief stage.
How are the dishes prepared and presented?
Plate composition, props and presentation are decided together within the shoot plan; how the dishes will be prepared is settled at the brief stage.
How should I prepare for a menu shoot?
Share the list of dishes, brand colours if any, and where the images will be used (menu, social media, advertising). The rest is planned together in the brief call.
How long does delivery take, and in which formats?
For a one-day shoot, delivery takes about 1-2 days. After retouching, the selected frames are delivered in formats suitable for web, social media and print.
Can the images be used in advertising and print?
The intended use (menu, web, social media, advertising, print) is stated in the quote; the shoot and delivery are planned around it.
Can I book food and product photography together?
Yes. A menu shoot and a packaged-product or packaging shoot can be handled in one plan. For the product side, see Ankara product photography.
How is the price determined?
It depends on the scope of the shoot (number of frames, location, retouching and usage). A quote follows a short brief.
